News article creation via missing CSRF validation
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows attackers to add a news article through an Editor session. The admin/add-news.php handler accepts article fields in a POST request without verifying a CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in Superuser or Editor to load attacker-controlled content, after which the forged request creates the article with that user's authority.
