Global settings modification via forged administrator requests
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows remote attackers to alter global settings via an administrator's session. The admin/manage-settings.php endpoint accepts state-changing POST fields without an anti-CSRF token and applies them under the active session. A Superuser must remain authenticated and load attacker-controlled content; the resulting changes can enable code execution or interrupt the service.
