Spreadsheet command execution via unanchored email validation
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSV injection in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows remote authenticated users to execute spreadsheet formulas through an export. The validateInput function uses an unanchored email regular expression, and exportAsCSV writes accepted values with fputcsv without neutralizing formula prefixes. Superuser access is required, and execution occurs only when the generated CSV is opened in formula-processing spreadsheet software.
