Authenticated script execution via unencoded request URI
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted admin-page URI. admin/include/check-authority.php copies the final REQUEST_URI segment, including its query string, into lang_header, and admin/header.php emits that value into an onclick attribute without validation or output encoding. A Superuser, Editor, or Writer must open the crafted report-referrers.php URL; the payload then runs in that user's browser under the PHPKB origin.
