Authenticated browser script execution via unencoded request URI
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in admin/header.php in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows remote authenticated users to run script via a crafted URI. admin/include/check-authority.php copies the final request URI segment and query into lang_header, which admin/header.php embeds in an onclick handler without validation or output encoding. A Superuser, Editor, or Writer must open the crafted edit-category.php URI; the script runs in that user's browser under the PHPKB origin.
