Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server code. The admin/imagepaster/image-upload.php handler accepts attacker-controlled upload metadata and stores PHP content in the web-accessible admin/js directory without blocking executable files. A Superuser, Writer, Translator, or Editor account is required; successful exploitation runs commands with the web application's server privileges.
