Code execution via VBScript object memory corruption
Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Memory corruption in the VBScript engine in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 11 allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted web content. The engine mishandles objects in memory, corrupting process memory when Internet Explorer or an application hosting its rendering engine processes malicious script. A victim must visit an attacker-controlled or compromised page or open a crafted Office document, and successful code runs with the current user's rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
