CVE-2020-10279

Privilege escalation and service interruption via insecure defaults

Published Jun 24, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in MiR100 2.8.1.1 and earlier allow authorized local attackers to escalate privileges or interrupt service. The controller's Ubuntu Server 16.04 configuration assigns unsafe file and home-directory permissions and exposes race-prone file creation. Access requires an authorized local robot OS account, which the vendor says is limited to MiR support; abuse can gain elevated access or cause denial of service.
