CVE-2020-10236

Local disclosure and DoS via predictable temporary file

Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper temporary-file handling in Froxlor before 0.10.14 allows local users to read configuration data or interrupt service. The _createUserdataConf method writes installer configuration to the fixed /tmp/userdata.inc.php path when the installation directory is not writable, allowing another local process to preempt or access that file. Exploitation requires local access during installation and the unwritable-directory fallback; exposure is limited to configuration data and service interruption.
