Authenticated remote code execution via malicious request
Published Apr 1, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Remote code execution in Sonatype Nexus Repository before 3.21.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted request. The vulnerable request handling performs insufficient validation while a third-party library configuration permits submitted code evaluation outside the Nexus process scope. Network access and a Nexus account are required; execution inherits the server account's privileges, enabling compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
