Subscriber-level privilege escalation via unchecked admin-post actions
Published Mar 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authorization bypass in Popup Builder before 3.64.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose data and modify plugin settings. Three handlers in com/classes/Actions.php process admin-post requests without capability checks, exposing subscriber and system exports and writing sgpb-user-roles. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to expose newsletter records or system details and grant every subscriber additional plugin permissions.
