Cross-domain GAL disclosure via missing domain check
Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authorization in Zimbra zm-mailbox before 8.8.15.p8 allows remote authenticated users to read GAL contacts across domains. AutoCompleteGal resolves a caller-supplied galsync account ID and starts the search without checking that its domain matches the authenticated account's domain. Any authenticated account on a multi-domain installation can expose GAL contact data from another hosted domain; unauthenticated requests remain outside the reported attack path.
