Unauthenticated service interruption via oversized verify input
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Yubico YubiKey Validation Server before 2.40 allows remote attackers to interrupt OTP validation via oversized requests. The verify endpoint validates field formats but fails to limit field lengths before incorporating submitted values into database queries. This endpoint is exposed without an IP allowlist by default, so exploitation can block legitimate authentications on self-hosted services; YubiCloud is unaffected.
