Stored script execution via emailed ticket articles
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Zammad 3.0 through 3.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript when another user opens an emailed ticket article. The email-to-ticket path stores attacker-supplied active content in an article and renders it without neutralizing executable JavaScript. Low-privileged access is sufficient to submit the content, but execution requires another user to open the resulting ticket article in a browser.
