Stack buffer overflow in Apple macOS 10.15.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash smbd through SMB2. The smb2_dispatch_tree_connect function copies a client-supplied UTF-16 share path into the fixed 2048-byte wcSharePath stack buffer using the packet-declared length. SMB File Sharing must be enabled and an SMB session established; Apple records versions before 11.0 as affected, while Talos demonstrated the flaw on 10.15.7.
