Remote code execution via MDB integer underflow
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in Microsoft Windows Jet Database Engine allows remote attackers to execute code by supplying a crafted MDB file. Crafted MDB data causes an integer underflow before the engine writes to memory, corrupting the current process. Exploitation requires a target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and resulting code runs in that process's context.
