Code execution via unvalidated database data
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in the Microsoft Windows Jet Database Engine allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted file. The engine fails to validate user-supplied data before handling an in-memory object, producing memory corruption. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and resulting code runs in the current process context.
