Authenticated code execution via unchecked package markup
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Remote code execution in affected Microsoft SharePoint editions allows remote authenticated users to run code via application packages. SharePoint fails to validate an application package’s source markup before processing it, but Microsoft has not disclosed a narrower code locus. Remote authenticated users able to submit such packages can compromise Foundation 2010 SP2 or 2013 SP1, Enterprise Server 2016, or Server 2019.
