Kernel-mode code execution via mishandled objects
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Elevation of privilege in the Windows kernel on affected Windows releases allows local users to execute arbitrary code in kernel mode. The kernel improperly handles objects in memory, but Microsoft has not disclosed the object type or the incorrect memory operation. Exploitation requires an attacker to log on and run a crafted application, after which code executes with full kernel privileges.
