CVE-2020-0895Network attack vector

Remote code execution via VBScript object memory flaw

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Remote code execution in Microsoft Internet Explorer's VBScript engine allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted webpage. The engine mishandles objects in memory when processing attacker-controlled script, creating a memory corruption condition that reaches code execution. Exploitation requires a user to open specially crafted web content in an affected Windows installation; successful execution can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
