CVE-2020-0888

Local privilege escalation via mishandled DirectX objects

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Elevation of privilege in DirectX on affected Windows 10 and Windows Server releases allows local users to execute code with elevated rights. DirectX improperly handles in-memory objects, but Microsoft has not disclosed the affected object type or erroneous memory operation. Exploitation requires existing low-privilege local access and can grant control beyond the user's assigned permissions.
