Code execution via scripting-engine out-of-bounds write
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in Microsoft Edge Legacy, Internet Explorer 11, and ChakraCore allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted web content. The Chakra scripting engine mishandles objects in memory, causing an out-of-bounds write; Microsoft has not disclosed the affected routine or object operation. A victim must open attacker-controlled content, and successful execution runs with the victim's current user rights.
