CVE-2020-0760Network attack vector

Remote code execution via arbitrary type library loading

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Remote code execution in Microsoft Office allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted document that causes improper loading of arbitrary type libraries. The vulnerable loader accepts attacker-controlled type-library references without adequate validation while processing Office files. Exploitation requires a victim to open the document; successful attacks execute with the victim application’s privileges and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
