Local privilege escalation via mishandled Win32k objects
Published Feb 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Windows and Windows Server allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. The Win32k component mishandles objects in memory, but Microsoft has not disclosed the object type or incorrect memory operation. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege logon and crafted local code, after which the process gains elevated privileges.
