CVE-2020-0669

Local privilege escalation via kernel object handling

Published Feb 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Windows Kernel in affected Windows 10 and Server releases allows local authenticated users to execute code with elevated permissions. Kernel object handling performs an unsafe operation on attacker-controlled in-memory objects, enabling privilege escalation. Exploitation requires running a specially crafted application locally; successful attacks can provide elevated code execution and full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
