Local privilege escalation via Win32k use-after-free
Published Jan 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Win32k allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel-mode privileges through a crafted application. Microsoft identifies improper handling of memory objects but does not disclose the affected function or object type. Exploitation requires an existing logon and execution of the application, after which the attacker gains full control of the affected system.
