Remote information disclosure via unchecked A2DP codec data
Published Jan 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 10 Bluetooth A2DP parsing allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through crafted codec data. A2DP_GetCodecType reads the codec type from a2dp_codec_config without adequately validating the input buffer bounds. An attacker needs no privileges or user interaction, but must deliver malicious A2DP codec configuration data over Bluetooth.
