CVE-2020-0206

Local Settings crash via oversized profile name

Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in Android 10 Settings allows local users to crash the app by entering an excessively long profile name. The profile-info dialog accepts a user name longer than the layout can safely handle because its edit field lacks a maximum-length filter. User-level execution is required, but no additional user interaction is needed; exploitation interrupts only the Settings app.
