Local information disclosure via unchecked PSSH bounds
Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 10 ClearKey PSSH parsing allows local users to disclose process memory via crafted initialization data. InitDataParser::parsePssh reads PSSH header fields before verifying that the buffer is large enough and performs unchecked key-count size arithmetic. Exploitation requires local access that can submit malformed DRM initialization data; no user interaction is required, and the documented impact is information disclosure only.
