Information disclosure via H.264 slice mismatch
Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 10's H.264 decoder allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a crafted video. The slice parser can retain a pending field and pass a later slice to ih264d_decode_slice_thread without confirming that it is a field from the same frame. Exploitation requires a user to open or process the crafted media; the documented consequence is information disclosure only.
