Remote information disclosure via miscounted reference buffers
Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 10 Media Framework allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through crafted H.264 content. The libavc decoder's reference-list repair logic wrongly increments the long-term reference-buffer count when removing a duplicate short-term node, leaving ih264d_update_default_index_list() to read beyond the intended list. Exploitation requires a user to process attacker-supplied media; the documented consequence is memory disclosure without code execution, data modification, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
