Media processing interruption via unchecked saiz box size
Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Resource exhaustion in Android 10 MPEG4Extractor allows remote attackers to interrupt media processing through a crafted MP4 file. The parseSampleAuxiliaryInformationSizes function parses a saiz box without first validating its size against the available data, exhausting resources. A user must open or otherwise process the malicious media; no authentication or execution privileges are required, and the reported effect is availability loss only.
