CVE-2020-0131Network attack vector

Code execution via incompletely initialized chunk data

Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Android 10 MPEG4Extractor allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing playback of a crafted MPEG-4 file. The parseChunk function in MPEG4Extractor.cpp processes incompletely initialized chunk data and writes beyond the intended buffer while parsing the file. Exploitation requires user interaction to process attacker-controlled media and runs without additional execution privileges.
