CVE-2020-0073Public exploit

Code execution via repeated NFC lock TLVs

Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Android 8.0, 8.1, 9, and 10 allows physically proximate attackers to execute code through a crafted NFC tag. rw_t2t_handle_tlv_detect_rsp repeatedly increments num_lockbytes across crafted lock-control responses, then indexes beyond lockbyte and overwrites the NFC daemon callback pointer. Exploitation requires NFC range but needs no privileges or user interaction, and successful execution occurs in the NFC daemon.
