CVE-2020-0041Known exploitation

Local privilege escalation via binder bounds check

Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Android kernel binder_transaction out-of-bounds write allows local users to escalate privileges without user interaction. The binder.c function applies an incorrect bounds check while processing transaction data, permitting a kernel memory write outside the intended buffer. Exploitation requires local code execution with low privileges and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability; CISA records active exploitation.
