Local privilege escalation via double free
Published Jan 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
A double-free vulnerability in Android 10 allows local users to escalate privileges without user interaction via export_key_der. The export_key_der function in export_key.cpp frees the same allocation twice, causing memory corruption that can be redirected into privileged-process memory effects. Exploitation requires local low privileges but no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
