System-level code execution via unauthenticated SmartService upload
Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in EntraPass Corporate and Global Editions 8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute uploaded code as SYSTEM. The optional SmartService API accepts a malicious code upload without authorization and passes it for execution with system-level privileges. Exposure requires the SmartService API Service option to be enabled and reachable; successful exploitation gives control of the server and its access-control software.
