Unauthenticated command execution via unchecked card-decoder parameters
Published Jul 2, 2019 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
OS command injection in Linear eMerge E3-Series 1.00-06 allows remote attackers to execute commands via crafted HTTP requests. The card_scan_decoder.php endpoint passes attacker-controlled door input into shell interpretation without neutralizing command substitution. Exploitation requires network access to the web interface but no login, executes initially as the web-server account, and reaches root when the default root password remains configured.
