Administrative LDAP credential exposure via unchecked server reassignment

Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Credential exposure in Barracuda Load Balancer ADC before 6.5 allows remote authenticated users to obtain configured LDAP credentials. The administrative LDAP editor accepts a replacement server address without requiring the stored LDAP secret, then sends the connector credentials in plaintext to that server. Administrative console access and a configured LDAP connector are required; captured credentials enable access wherever the directory account is trusted.
