CVE-2019-5640

Information disclosure via retained post-timeout page

Published Nov 22, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Information exposure in Rapid7 Nexpose 6.6.113 and earlier allows remote attackers to read a previous user's page details. The Security Console's inactivity timeout places a login panel over the last page but leaves its details in the browser DOM, where element inspection can remove the panel. Exploitation requires access to the browser after an authenticated user's session times out and exposes only the data rendered on that page.
