CVE-2019-5621Public exploit

Code execution via oversized LST playlist import

Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in ABBS Software Audio Media Player 3.1 allows attackers to execute code when a crafted .lst playlist is added. The playlist loader writes oversized file content into a stack buffer, allowing the saved return address at offset 4,108 to be overwritten. A user must add the attacker-supplied playlist, after which successful exploitation runs code with that user's application privileges.
