Unauthenticated command execution via wserver.exe
Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Missing authentication in MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via wserver.exe. The component accepts unauthenticated EXECUTE operations and contains a remote stack buffer overflow that processes the request into command execution. WServer is disabled by default and becomes reachable when a project uses the SCIL WORKSTATION_CALL function, so exploitation requires that configuration and network access to the service.
