CVE-2019-5618Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via crafted M3U import

Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in A-PDF Wav to MP3 1.0.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted M3U playlist. A 4,132-byte prefix reaches the saved SEH record in wavtomp3.exe, letting the crafted file replace the handler and redirect control flow. Opening or importing the attacker-supplied playlist requires user interaction; successful exploitation runs code with the application's privileges.
