CVE-2019-5468Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Blocked-account access via stale Mattermost authorization

Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Privilege escalation in GitLab before 11.11.6, 12.0.4, and 12.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to access projects via slash commands. The Mattermost slash-command path accepts authorization tied to an existing Mattermost session without rechecking whether the linked GitLab account has since been blocked. Exploitation requires GitLab SSO, an enabled Mattermost slash-command integration, a still-active session, and prior project permissions; it exposes issues and deployment commands within that access.
