CVE-2019-5174Public exploit

Root command execution via unescaped XML subnetmask

Published Mar 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

OS command injection in WAGO PFC200 Firmware 03.02.02(14) allows local users to execute root commands via a crafted XML cache file. The iocheckd I/O-Check parser inserts the unescaped subnetmask node into a config_interfaces command with sprintf and passes it to system(). The user must write /tmp/iocheckCache.xml and send a BC_SaveParameter message; successful exploitation grants root-level control.
