Device crash via unchecked ServiceAgent bundle length
Published Feb 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in ServiceAgent in Moxa AWK-3131A firmware 1.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the device via crafted packets. The parseRecvData function subtracts an unvalidated bundle length from the packet remainder, underflows the copy size, and passes that oversized value to copyRemainingData for a memcpy. No authentication is required; the resulting out-of-bounds or unmapped-memory access terminates ServiceAgent and interrupts the device.
