Diagnostic script execution via embedded decryption password
Published Feb 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Moxa AWK-3131A Series firmware 1.13 and earlier allow local users to run custom diagnostic scripts. The iw_webs utility decrypts uploaded scripts with an embedded AES password and passes the plaintext to the device command runner. Local troubleshooting-portal access is required; the documented consequence is extraction of confidential device information without reported service disruption.
