CVE-2019-5138Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated root command execution via diagnostic script arguments

Published Feb 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

OS command injection in Moxa AWK-3131A firmware 1.13 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a diagnostic script. The advanced-diagnostics portal decrypts an uploaded script with a hard-coded password and runs permitted BusyBox commands plus supplied arguments as root. Low-privilege web access is required, after which injected arguments provide control of device data, configuration, and availability.
