Authenticated data disclosure via XML external entities
Published May 31, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
XML External Entity Injection in IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0 and 11.1 allows remote authenticated users to expose data via XML processing. The XML parser processes attacker-controlled external entity declarations, allowing referenced resources to be read and expanded in memory. Exploitation requires a remote authenticated session and can disclose sensitive information or consume memory, causing service degradation.
