Remote channel denial of service via clustering error
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Denial of service in IBM MQ 8.0 and 9.0 LTS allows remote attackers to prevent cluster channels from starting via channel data. The clustering code mishandles received channel data, causing an error that stops affected cluster channels from starting. Exploitation requires intimate knowledge of server details; the documented consequence is channel unavailability rather than a host crash.
